Good , but expected more
Rhonda Rajaofera is an amazing writer with great ideas on organization - READ THIS BOOK! I highly recommend it to anybody who needs a little help with organization, or anyone who wants to learn new ways to organize.
This book actually does contain a multitude of useful tips for getting yourself organized (some of which you may not have thought of, if you tend to block on obvious solutions, as I sometimes do). I am endogenously disorganized, which is why I read the book, but there was not a single suggestion (relevant to my situation) that I hadn't thought of or tried -- many, many times. And some of them have worked for me. Some haven't, or have proven wildly counterproductive. If there are any you haven't already tried, then whether or not they will help you will depend, I suppose, on your circumstances and objectives.

The author really is trying to be helpful, but I had the uncomfortable feeling that she thinks neatness and perfectionism are important to everyone. Since I live alone and am completely indifferent to my environment, they're not important to me except insofar as they serve some urgent, utilitarian objective. Except insofar as they reduce the burden on my life. Throwing things away consumes time. I have precious little energy, and don't want to spend extra time on ANYTHING inessential to my physical existence. Who cares if extra objects exist somewhere in space, provided I can find the things I want to? And the author does offer some help with this, but as I say, they're very obvious solutions I long ago adopted, or else they strike me as overkill. Your mileage may vary.

To live with this author, or even to enter her house, would drive me literally insane in under two minutes -- though I'm absolutely certain the reverse is true, so we're equally culpable or guiltless.

Really only two major cavils

1) I think she does not understand that there are people who, by reason of disability or indisposition, cannot possibly implement many of her suggestions.

2) She enthusiastically endorses a child-rearing practice (punitive discarding of a child's treasured possessions in retribution for her insufficient fussiness) that I would personally consider both traumatizing and abusive. (Your mileage may vary.)

Otherwise, I think she means well, but offers little that is non-obvious, and nothing that was helpful to me, personally.
As a hopelessly disorganized human being, I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I am so excited to finally have found this book
My older children needed this help so it was a great help for me. I really enjoyed the book and like to refresh myself periodically to help me keep the tips working.
